Technological and digital applications in care and welfare: a guide

This report, written in Dutch, by the Policy Research Centre Welfare, Public Health and Family provides a guide for the implementation of technological and digital applications in the care and welfare sector, offering a systematic overview of available applications and implementation considerations.

Abstract

The aim of this study was to provide an overview of evidence-based technologies relevant to the Flemish care and welfare sectors. The project was therefore designed iteratively, starting from a systematic literature review. The findings were then shared with relevant stakeholders. They were first informed about the different technological applications, the contexts in which these had previously been implemented, and the trade-offs involved. They were subsequently asked to assess the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats associated with these technologies across the different sectors. Combining these activities ultimately resulted in concrete policy recommendations to further optimise the potential of eHealth in Flanders.
