Podcasts for clinical psychologists: background and overview
This Dutch contribution aims to provide clinical psychologists with insight into relevant Dutch- and English-language podcasts in their professional domain. Beyond their potential for personal and professional enrichment, the article also highlights materials that clients may encounter or that practitioners may recommend to their clients.
Summary
Living in countries with heavy traffic congestion has not only disadvantages but also one important advantage: it offers ideal opportunities to listen to podcasts. In recent years, approximately six out of ten Flemish people and five out of ten Dutch people have listened to a podcast. The number of podcasts focused on mental health, psychology, and psychiatry has also increased substantially. Although podcast listening continues to grow, research on their use within clinical psychology remains limited at present.
